Continuous Requirements Risk Profiling in Information Systems Development

2015

With the increasing adoption of agile, lean, and iterative development methods, information systems development (ISD) has become continuous, meaning that system development moves rapidly from release to release. This means that work practices and challenges that practitioners face have changed. Despite these changes, requirements development is still critical in ISD. However, IS literature is silent on how to manage requirements-related risks in the practice of continuous IS development. To fill this gap, we propose a continuous requirements risk profiling method. The study is informed by design science research methodology, and we apply focus group interviews and a Delphi study for data co…

An integrated framework for risk profiling of breast cancer patients following surgery.

2006

Objective: An integrated decision support framework is proposed for clinical oncologists making prognostic assessments of patients with operable breast cancer. The framework may be delivered over a web interface. It comprises a triangulation of prognostic modelling, visualisation of historical patient data and an explanatory facility to interpret risk group assignments using empirically derived Boolean rules expressed directly in clinical terms. Methods and materials: The prognostic inferences in the interface are validated in a multicentre longitudinal cohort study by modelling retrospective data from 917 patients recruited at Christie Hospital, Wilmslow between 1983 and 1989 and predictin…

Guideline-adherence and perspectives in the acute management of unstable angina - Initial results from the German chest pain unit registry.

2015

Abstract Background We investigated the current management of unstable angina pectoris (UAP) in certified chest pain units (CPUs) in Germany and focused on the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guideline-adherence in the timing of invasive strategies or choice of conservative treatment options. More specifically, we analyzed differences in clinical outcome with respect to guideline-adherence. Method Prospective data from 1400 UAP patients were collected. Analyses of high-risk criteria with indication for invasive management and 3-month clinical outcome data were performed. Guideline-adherence was tested for a primarily conservative strategy as well as for percutaneous coronary interventi…
